c0759 Burgundy Lycra & Chiffon Professional Costume $325
SOLD Made in Egypt. A classic silhouette that never goes out of style. Chiffon of very full lower skirt is a rich, deep wine red. Lycra covering bra and making up skirt top has a very slightly less saturated coloring, exact same family but gives a nice little bit of contrast. Skirt opens fully in front. Fully elasticized top (3/4"), still may need to be tightened for smaller sizes due to the weight of the extravagant beadwork.
Bra has padding (easily removed by undoing a few stitches in the lining and just pulling out the foam). Full coverage cups. Main strap fastens around neck, with vertical straps in back that keep bra back bands from slipping down.
Beadwork is rich "3D" style, almost entirely glass seed beads in reds and silvers; tiny silver flat sequins are base of outlines and small metallic beads accent the apex of the loops. Accents of lightly colored pearlized teardrops in yellow, pink, silver, rose. 1/2" very nice quality (clear, sharp and bright) acrylic stone at center of bra with rhinestones around it. Half dozen sew on acrylic rhinestones (just ok quality) on back of skirt. Three more very nice acrylic stones center back and sides. Large 3/4" real glass crystal on fan "applique" on front of skirt (this is the closure, hooks underneath). The fan seemed meant to be more upright (stone to left, petals to right), but I liked it better pointing down so I pinned it that way for photos.
Chiffon skirt is very nicely finished, all serged edges inside, very evenly spaced, close gathers sewn onto lycra. The silver glass square cut bugle bead/metallic accent bead fringe is traditional Egyptian corded. Opening slit and hem edged with looping silver seed bead and silver sequin trim. Light monofilament in hem for flounce.
Shortening the skirt (which is admittedly very long): It looks to me like the seed bead trim all along bottom of lycra was sewn in BEFORE the chiffon was sewn on. In other words, as far as I can tell it would be easy to take of the fringe (all comes off as one piece, strands individually knotted to cord). Because the rest of the beadwork doesn't appear to go through the chiffon, you could remove the chiffon entirely, wack off as much as you need to from the top, and re-sew it to the lycra without having to deal with beadwork (other than stitching the corded fringe back on.
Accessories: Matching Beaded Gauntlets.
Sizing: Large-XLarge
Bra: Should fit range including 36DD, 38D, 40C. Has light padding; removing will up the size range maybe not quite a full cup size.
Age/Condition: New.
Photos are of actual items for sale unless noted. Due to variations introduced by the camera, the lighting, and your computer monitor, colors in real life may not appear exactly as on your screen.
