c0771 Bright Yellow/Chartreuse, Crystal Belly Dance Costume $325
SOLD Made in Egypt. Biased description ahead. Wow. This is a beautiful professional costume with many high end details and real crystals. The price belies the quality. BUY IT! Too big for me or it would be mine.
This one is bright, even "neon." It leans a bit towards yellow to truly be chartreuse, but definitely has a green cast to it. All lycra, with chiffon panel over slit.
Skirt is put together like a lycra top/chiffon bottom skirt, except separate bottom piece is also lycra instead of chiffon. However, lower skirt isn't gathered so essentially is a simple, fairly full flared skirt; how fitted it is over your hips will depend on your hips. It looks good on both the "easy" fitting and body-hugging end of the range. Pull on. Top of skirt comes together over front left hip at large silver ring (yummy), chiffon panel hangs from ring over wide slit. Panel edges are sewn to lycra several inches down from ring, so it's not open all the way to Nebraska. Top has fully cased 3/4" elastic all around. Awesome bra is halter style, with two narrow straps on one side, and one strap on the other attached with silver ring matching the skirt ring (a little smaller).
Flatwork uses many beads in unique patterns. Parts with outlines primarily have silver glass square cut bugles or extra long traditional smooth glass silver bugles (really pretty). Some fills of faceted green plastic beads and faceted silver metallic beads, more of sequins including silver holographic, dark and light green iridescent, clear yellow iridescent. Silver metallic rice beads and silver metallic faceted beads are additional line designs. Skirt edges/hem trimmed with looping silver seed bead and silver sequin edging.
There are fourteen 7/16" (not quite 1/2") round real glass crystals on the skirt, all around top with concentration in front and around silver ring. Nine of the same on bra. Crystals on skirt have swirls of acrylic rhinestones around them, on bra the rhinestones are glass. Also used are large flat holographic silver sequins which really have a lot of impact; in fact they look like crystals. Fringe accent groups throughout hip beadwork of three strands, glass silver seed beads, green glass iridescent square cut bugles, clear faceted acrylics, and large oval (sequins? paillettes? not sure which to call them), silver holographic, open in the center. Love them! A couple of discretely placed fringe groups on bra, and center bunch.
Skirt hemming: the skirt is fairly long, and shortening it would take a little work. Not impossible and if you sew even the tiniest bit you don't need to pay someone. Main problem is some of the main bead designs come all the way down to the hem. However, these are not heavy beading. In the realm of costuming, cutting a few inches of fabric off and tying off ends of beadwork on this skirt is not too big of a deal. Tedious, but not something that would take a year.
Accessories: Matching beaded gauntlets, headband.
Sizing: Medium-Large
Bra: Should fit range including wide 34 DD, 36 B+/C+, 38 A+/B+.
Age/Condition: New. I keep checking and checking and checking for spots, as of course light colors pick dirt up, and these bright colors can make it hard to see. But I don't see anything. I believe I may have been the first person to get this costume (it hasn't been put on by anybody but me). Oh, drat. I'm sitting here with the skirt on my lap and I do see a couple of areas of VERY VERY light discoloration. A couple of areas of vague/scattered maybe smudges (practically invisible). Two actual spots, one smaller than a pencil eraser, extremely light brown, you can actually see this if you are looking straight at it at the right angle. One a little larger, rough oval 3/4" by 1/2" (approx), very light, more like a water mark. All of these are about midway down the skirt, widely scattered from slit to side seam. I can guarantee I couldn't get these to show up in the photos, and nobody else is going to notice them, either. There are a few pinprick snags in lycra, nothing out of the ordinary.
Photos are of actual items for sale unless noted. Due to variations introduced by the camera, the lighting, and your computer monitor, colors in real life may not appear exactly as on your screen.
