Made in Egypt. Super elegant stretch rich velour, heavily beaded costume with extra detail of contrasting gold jewelry piece, and a touch of funky-ness in the three-ringed waist strap.
Skirt is sarong style, but with a flare (doesn't hug legs). From cut I'm fairly sure it was intended to be worn with slit (and waist strap) centered in front, but I think it looks more refined on the side and it still fits fine (see two different front photos, below).
Plenty of beadwork over entire bra and skirt, all silver (almost). Silver glass tumbled (smooth edged) square cut bugle beads as well as traditional non-Egyptian long smooth silver bugle beads outline flat silver holographic sequins. Several high quality acrylic 1/2" crystal accents, three on bra and two on skirt front. Fringe around hips are double strands of the silver tumbled cut bugles, tipped with round silver metallics, and round black novelty beads with silver foil designs.
Hip fabric is gathered to line above slit. Over the gather line above the slit is a long gold rhinestone clasp that slightly pulls up the top of the slit (see note in "Age/Condition," below, about clasp). The waist strap is attached to top of skir above the gather line (above the slit), rises about an inch to one of the smooth, shiny metallic rings, Y's out on each side about 4" to ring on each side, then continues. Straps are also heavily beaded with silver tumbled bugles.
Bra is halter style. Halter and back straps are beaded as well as cups. Ruched velour strip runs under cups, with rhinestone strands decoratively covering stitch lines.
Age/Condition: New. The gold rhinestone clasp above the slit is what I would call partially broken. I've already lowered the price $20 from the retail of $350, which itself came to me labeled as a "sale" price. I'm trying to get an additional discount, but I'm not sure if that will be successful. If you pay for this costume at $330 and I'm able to get some of my money back, I'll refund the full additional mark down to you. However, you can't count on it, and if I can get it I wouldn't count on more than $10.
Solution 1: Ditch the clasp. It is holding up some of the skirt (sort of adding to what the gathers are holding up), but I don't think getting rid of it is going to change things that much structurally. You could then put a line of rhinestones over the vertical gather line (this is done very often), or a line of sequins.
Solution 2: Fiddle. There are three parts to the clasp. Each of the two connections between the parts is made up of two tiny U shaped clips pressed around tiny bars (they're moveable). On one of the connections, one of the tiny bars is broken, so one of the clips isn't connected on one side (it's still connected to the other). The other clip is fine and holds the clasp pieces together, but has enough play due to the other clip not being attached that it can slip off if jiggled around when skirt isn't hanging (weighting it). The intact clip can be pressed together a little more to keep it from coming off, that isn't a problem. However, there is some actual weight on the clasp, it does pull up somewhat on the skirt, and I don't know that the one clip and bar can continue to hold it. I would probably try doing something with some wire (there are spaces in the clasp between the rhinestones) to hook the loose clip onto.
Accessories: Beaded gauntlets. They are black lycra instead of velour, and if you are checking every bead they aren't all the same as those used on the costume. But they look great with costume.
