Gainesville, Florida, November 17, 2002 -- The fifth annual show produced by the Middle Eastern Dance
Educational Association had both a record number of dancers and attendees this year, but as usual was
well run and a great time for all! Kudos to Zarifa Sa'id, Sallamah Chimera, Magda, and everybody else
running the show. Despite about 30 (30!!!) acts AND an intermission, the program was over in under
3 hours. A wonderful chance especially for students to perform in a well run
production and a lovely venue (the historic Thomas Center). All proceeds go to the Alachua County
Humane Society, and early reports are that this was the best year ever, with over $1200 going to this worthy cause.
Karolinka's beginner and intermediate students performed. On this page are the beginners; seven students, all of them first time performing belly dance (although several have other dance experience). They worked hard and put in many hours of extracurricular practice, and the result was a great performance! They even looked like they were having fun. Great job, ladies! |
